Market Drivers

Gesso Advantages

Time-to-market

A full commerce framework with integrations spun up in minutes.
Frontend & backend development can be done in parallel (agile/iterative approach).

Best-in-breed tech stack

The ability to swap out individual technologies without impacting the rest of the stack (ex., swap BigCommerce with Shopify).

Reduce technical support

Including the CMS option in the stack provides complete freedom for non-technical people to edit the front end without IT support, including the commerce templates.

Site performance

Separating your website’s front end from the data (back end) dramatically improves page speed.

Accelerated integrations

Gesso minimizes the complexity of the architecture, reducing the integration time of any platform that allows access.

One system, multiple experiences

Gesso’s single source of design elements (tokens) and components provides a robust, reusable library for all sites/apps.

The transformation your business needs is a call away.

Frequently Asked Questions

Gesso is Acro Commerce’s decoupled accelerator: an architecture that enables separate components or layers to execute independently but interact with each other through well-defined protocols.

Gesso minimizes the effort required to get to market while fulfilling the functionality and ideal customer experience.

Gesso was designed and developed for organizations seeking optimization and recognizing the need to transform their sales processes and entire technical architecture.

Curated for the manufacturing and B2B industries, Gesso has a robust set of commerce components, a sophisticated design system and unparalleled connectivity to any organization's existing services or platforms.

“75% of B2B manufacturers will sell directly to their customers via digital commerce by 2025.” - Gartner’s 2021 Digital Commerce State of the Union

A modern digital commerce architecture built with Gesso allows organizations to efficiently manage their own sales channel by connecting their existing tech stack & data through Gesso’s middleware layer for product, pricing and inventory information.

Also known as headless, decoupled architecture enables components or layers to execute independently while still interacting with each other through well-defined protocols. A decoupled presentation layer means that the front end is rendered with data provided by your content management system, ecommerce platform, or any other integrated services but is separate from those platforms and services.

An accelerator minimizes the effort required to get to market, without sacrificing functionality or customer experience. Gesso is a decoupled accelerator for ecommerce.

Composable commerce is a development approach of selecting best-of-breed commerce components and combining or ‘composing’ them into a custom application built for specific business needs.

“A design system is a set of standards to manage design at scale by reducing redundancy while creating a shared language and visual consistency across different pages and channels.” - Nielsen Norman Group.

The interactive website front end. Headless (or decoupled) means that the front end is rendered with data provided by your content management system, ecommerce platform, or any other integrated services.

Data fetching allows for pre-rendering a page with server-side rendering (SSR) or static generation (SSG) and dynamically updating parts of the page with incremental static regeneration (ISR). In other words, small pieces of the web page change dynamically as needed without needing to refresh the whole page.

An API mediation layer, or middleware, primarily facilitates communication across different services. In other words, the mediation layer makes the services independent, so even if you replace or remove a particular service, the other services can seamlessly interact with new services.

Digital transformation is the adoption of technology to improve efficiency, increase value and foster innovation. Digital transformation helps companies migrate traditional manual processes to digital solutions and connect operational assets.
